Inner Work, Healed Mother Wounds, and the Transparentized Holistic Practitioner

May 19, 2019

What does it take to be a good healer or become a good holistic practitioner? I get this question a lot.

I have come to an answer—forged by twenty plus years as a crystal healer and holistic practitioner working with one-on-one clients and leading workshops, by practicing several spiritual disciplines, and by engaging in countless courses in both crystals and other holistic modalities. I have also learned through intensive research as a journalist; profound self-inquiry; and painful experiences, among them cancer, two divorces, and forced separation from my children. I’ve seen my clients and myself transcend adversities to become our best versions of ourselves, thriving to improve personally every day. Having been there, I can say, without doubt, that the primordial ingredient for being a holistic practitioner, whatever the specialty, is transparency. By this, I mean, becoming (and remaining) a transparent vessel—freeing yourself from others’ unconscious learned information and interacting with the world from your authentic nature or crystal blueprint.

As master Yoda said, “You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Learning starts in our mothers’ wombs. Our mothers are our gateways into this world, creating our very first unconscious program—whether or not they met society’s “mothers’ should-be” standards. Our relationships with our mothers and unconscious information (programs) we integrated in our interactions with them created an invisible pattern that, for better or worse, gets triggered and perpetuated, affecting our relationships with others, ourselves, the world around us, and life itself. In order to deactivate these unconscious programs, we have to reset our inner unconscious to its original nature, the crystal blueprint. This is what I refer to when I use the word “transparentizing”—in this scenario, a process of unlearning—by healing and transcending our unconscious mother wounds.

In my experience, I’ve realized that, as healers, we can bring healing outside of us—to our clients—only when the healing has been activated from inside and when we’ve reconnected with our transparent selves. Resonance is activated from the inside. If we as healers want to activate healing processes outside, it must begin inside of us.

The idea that we must unlearn information might challenge your beliefs about learning, including learning holistic information. In a world where we learn to live from the outside in—instead of the inside out—I’m sad to say that holistic learning is no exception.

Our surrounding environment has taught us that, in order to master any discipline, we must fill up with “others’” information, the more the better. Under this pretext, we fill our physical or virtual libraries with books and take as many courses as we can. Some holistic training programs offer healing certifications with just a single online course packed with information acquired from others.

Most holistic trainings are delivered as prescriptive information—crystal healing included. As I point out in The Crystal Blueprint, prescriptive crystal healing refers not just to prescriptive books describing how various stones can help us, but also to practices we learn from others and accept without questioning or discernment.

For example, through prescriptive crystal healing we may be taught to use citrine to deal with our emotions, amethyst with our minds, and rose quartz with broken hearts. Participants are taught why and where to place crystals from the trainer’s perspective—and remain unaware this also includes the trainer’s unconscious beliefs and experiences.

Prescriptive learning might be limiting your healing skills.

From an authentic perspective, what may work for others may not necessarily work for you. We were all born to different mothers, raised in different environments and countries by different people, and brought up among different cultures and religions—exposed to different experiences.

Real rapport with clients comes from a transparent framework and true healing from resonating with our unconscious transparency.

Although our mind is unable to perceive energy consciously, at a subatomic level, we are all energy beings—not belief beings. Thus, at our core, we are all transparent beings able to resonate with transparency when we transcend our beliefs.

In fact, ancient philosophies believed real balance and well-being come from transcending the mind and reconnecting to the original source of information beneath our learned beliefs and experiences.

Real transparency means resonating with the emptiness of your mind and your energy nature. In order to improve your own healing skills and enable your clients to experience wellness, you, as a healer or holistic practitioner, must become transparent. That is why I support and encourage holistic practitioners in engaging in ongoing personal work to restore and support their own transparency.

After many years of experience, I can attest that the number one unconscious wound among my clients and workshop participants is the mother wound.

If you are a holistic practitioner or are thinking of becoming one, I encourage you to engage in ongoing personal inner work, recognizing, healing, and transcending your inner contents—starting with your unconscious mother program. Your mother program, as part of your inner content, impacts your inner resonance. Healing mother wounds and letting go the patterns from your mother’s own internal programming and dynamics is integral to this work, to reconnecting with your true intuition, and to serving your clients as a guiding light in their healing processes.

Crystals are great tools to achieve this. Crystals’ transparency can help you resonate with and restore your own transparency and heal your mother wounds. Their energetic properties can transform and bring balance and change to your personal resonance. Due to their inner geometry, they resonate with zero-point field, or “emptiness” as ancients called it.

After years in the holistic world, I’ve learned that, in addition to supporting my clients in my workshops and crystal healing sessions, I must work daily on remaining transparent in order to support the healing, resonance, and transparent processes of my clients. To end this blog, I want to ask: What do you as a healer do to work on and support your transparency?
