Have you ever wondered why quartz crystals come in such a wide range of colors?
While their colors may vary, they all share a common origin: light. The way each crystal reflects or absorbs light is what defines its color.
For example, darker quartz crystals like smoky quartz and Tibetan black quartz absorb more light, while lighter crystals like milky quartz reflect more light.
In addition to their interaction with light, the different colors of crystals are also influenced by the information contained within their inclusions. Amethyst, for instance, gets its violet hue from iron, while rose quartz owes its color to titanium or manganese. Natural radiation exposure further alters their tones, creating a diversity of colors that reveal the information they have been exposed to and resonate with.
This diversity of colors, shaped by the varying information we’ve been exposed to, might make us perceive ourselves as different. But at our core, without exception, WE ARE ALL LIGHT.
Now, let’s talk about us. Our skin also reflects the influence of light. Melanin, the pigment that determines skin color, absorbs and reflects light. Depending on the amount of melanin and the intensity of sunlight in our environment, our skin may be lighter or darker.
Over the centuries, humans have adapted to their environments. In regions where the sun is intense, skin tends to be darker to protect against harmful rays, while in places with less sunlight, lighter skin helps produce vitamin D more efficiently.
While it’s fascinating to understand how light influences the color of both crystals and our skin, it’s important to remember that LIGHT symbolizes what is universal and unites us all.
Beyond the beautiful colors we perceive in the world, this light that surrounds and is part of us is emitted through the biophotons of the billions of atoms that make up our bodies, and it is something that, without exception, we all have in common.
In fact, the affirmation that “We Are Light” has been echoed in various ancient traditions. The Upanishads, sacred texts of Hinduism, express the idea that the individual essence is the same as the universal essence. Buddha’s teachings mention the concept of Bodhi, the state of “enlightenment” or awakening.
Symbolically, when we refer to ourselves as light, we affirm that as human beings, we have the capacity to bring clarity, wisdom, and expansion to our world.
Thich Nhat Hanh said, “We are born with the Sun inside us. Our true nature is light, and when we are aware of it, we radiate peace and love.”
And it is from that inner light, present in each one of us, that we can illuminate the world. This inner light can be rediscovered through spiritual practice.
When we consciously choose to transcend inauthentic information and align with our light, nothing is impossible, including the lasting personal well-being we all seek.
It’s time to reconnect with our Light! Aligning our lives with this inner spark not only reconnect us with our well-being but also with the power to transform our world.
